Candle Holders



I chose to create candle holders because they reminded me of hosting dinner parties. While dinner parties are starting to make a comeback, I typically associate them with a past where entertainment came from conversation and collaboration through shared events, like dinner parties. 

Process: 

  1. Cutting general shape with the bandsaw from each block
  2. Start to sand rounded edges or straight edges using disk and belt sanders
  3. Hand sand any parts I couldn’t get to with other sanders
  4. Use drill press to make a hole for a candle to sit in
  5. Paint wood
