Project 04 – Enclosure 

Matchbox


Relating to the candle holders, I created a matchbox because I thought of restaurants that have matchboxes as souvenirs. Also, I feel like matches had several uses back in the day, whether it be for lighting candles or cigarettes. 

Process: 

1. Decided what size I wanted the box to be and made several detailed and close-exact measurements
2. Using my measurements, I made an Adobe Illustrator file with the pieces to create the box
   
3. Testing with cardboard
4. Laser cutting on wood
   
5. Assembling the inner and outer boxes
   
6. Painting both boxes
